Finance Analyst - The Role

A South West/Wales (Newport) based Financial Services Business are now looking to appoint a talented Financial Analyst to support the business with the preparation and analysis of weekly, monthly and ad- hoc financial and management reporting.

Finance Analyst - Key responsibilities will include:

  • To support the Group FC and CFO in budgetary cost control, forecasting variance analysis and reporting
  • To support the preparation of management accounts and KPI's
  • To prepare a monthly board pack
  • To support weekly and monthly variance analysis to aid decision making
  • Liaise with the departmental managers to understand core risks and opportunities
  • Producing reports for various management committees
  • To support the Group FC and CFO in maintaining overall financial control and managing the risks within the Group
  • To examine costs and improve efficiencies across all areas of the business
  • Introduce appropriate checks to ensure accurate reporting
  • Responsibility for accuracy of financial data

Finance Analyst - Key skills & experience:

  • AAT qualified or ACCA / CIMA part qualified or qualified by experience
  • Financial Services experience would be beneficial
  • Proven IT & Systems knowledge and experience including Excel, Sage 200 and C3
  • Proven experience of detailed reconciliations
  • Strong numerical skills with the ability to understand and analyse financial data
  • Strong problem solving, decision making, negotiating and influencing skills with the ability to manage communication with a multitude of stakeholders both internally and externally.
