Personal Lines Broking Manager
An opportunity has arisen for a well-respected independent insurance broker.
Purpose of the Role:
As the Personal Lines Manager you will have overall responsibility for the performance and delivery of both sales targets and budget achievement within the department.
Delivering sustainable commercial growth in income in line with targets.
Leading by example and driving the performance of your team, by encouraging new business, high retention levels and maintaining customer relationship’s leading cross sales opportunities.
Work efficiently alongside the Group’s Board of Directors and Managers to ensure that all strategic and operational objectives and KPIs are achieved.
To create and develop marketing campaigns with other Directors and Managers
Communicate with existing, prospective and previous clients to gather information regarding their policies with a view to offering them a quotation
Arrange and meet clients if required
Provide a high degree of technical expertise so that clients and brokers needs can be assessed and any particular gaps in existing cover can be identified and used as a selling point
Knowledge of a wide range of trades is required, with an excellent knowledge and understanding of available markets and current market conditions
Provide timely and professional responses to both clients and brokers
Produce insurer presentations, organise and lead team meetings
Maintain strong relationships with clients, insurers and affiliates
Incept new business and transact renewals and adjustments
Compliance duties, including dip audits
Must be analytical in approach, able to problem solve, provide reports, result and recommendations
Ensuring all client information is correct on all paperwork
Collate, prepare and submit reports and statistics accurately within defined deadlines
Timely management and delivery of projects
Managing debts and ensure that funding has been received by the relevant person / finance company
Take immediate and any appropriate action in the event of a premium default
Prioritising and managing own workload
Understanding and meeting both service and industry standards
Cross selling of other products
To pro-actively seek and recommend improvements to processes and service, participate fully in the implementation within the team and be an advocate for change
Manage your team efficiently and effectively
Conduct annual performance appraisals and monthly 1-2-1’s with team members. Identifying any training or development needs to be managed and monitored
Work collaboratively and closely with all departments within the Group.

Proven track record for leading a successful team, with expence working with private sector insurance
High standard of literacy & numeracy
Must be computer literate
Understanding of commercial insurance is desirable
Cert CII qualification is essential
You must be able to demonstrate a high level of understanding of FCA, compliance and industry regulations and requirements and adhere to them
IDD & TCF knowledge and understanding of the Insurance Act 2015.
