My client is a an executive non-departmental public body of the United Kingdom's Department of Health. They have responsibility for optimising the supply of blood, organs and tissues and raising the quality, effectiveness and efficiency of blood and transplant service.

Due to system growth and demand they are currently recruiting a Solution Architect within Manufacturing to be based at either there Birmingham , Bristol , Colindale or Watford site.

This role will include IT used in blood and tissue, diagnostics, and that used for planning and scheduling the supply chain. You will be required to

*Act as the organisational lead for Manufacturing Platform Solution Architecture, interpreting industry good practice and other broad policy. This will involve owning the long term strategic roadmap for how the Manufacturing Platform will be used in the target and interim architectures, and supporting the architecture governance process in identifying opportunities for appropriate use of Manufacturing IT

*Ensure all new IT solutions design and communicate the high level Manufacturing solution to enable and guide the design and development of integrated solutions that meet current and future business needs

*Research new and emerging IT and how it can provide strategic improvements to NHSBT's business. This will involve working on major programmes and carrying out system research, developing proof of concepts, engaging with industry thought leaders and presenting ideas to TPB and the Exec.

*Provide comprehensive guidance on the development of Manufacturing solutions to ensure that they take account of relevant architectures, strategies, polices, standards and practices.

*Create and implement our Manufacturing solution architecture and policy. It will require a deep understanding of the business, strategic and operational change needs and the ability to convert these into well-defined and high quality IT-supported change initiatives.

Experience and Knowledge
*Excellent working knowledge and experience of current ERP, MRP, TMS and Supply Chain Planning technologies
*Excellent awareness of the current state of technologies particularly those affecting the range of business requirements - Cloud/SaaS, BPMS and CRM
*Understanding of solution development and continuous improvement technologies
*Experience of IT architecture development and solution design across applications, data and infrastructure
*Experience of using technology to support significant business change and development across a range of different business models e.g. manufacturing, logistics, clinical, customer service, health
*Experience of leading organisations in the definition, selection, building or acquisition, implementation and improvements in ERP, MRP, TMS and supply chain planning solutions
*Experience of working with Information Technology using Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

Qualifications and Training
*Educated to masters degree level or equivalent experience
*TOGAF or equivalent experience
*Accredited in one or more ERP packages would be desirable
*MSP / PRINCE2 Practitioner would be desirable
*Possession of a valid driving licence, allowing you to drive in the UK would be desirable
*Demonstrates commitment to own continued professional development (CPD)
