Full Time
Data Scientist required by a tech company in the heart of Manchester who provide a range of products to some of the world's most recognised brands.

This organisation are very busy at the moment and are hiring across the business due to a steady stream of work with existing customers and indeed a number of brand new clients.

The Role:

This is a brand new role and you'll be the first Data Scientist hired into the team to work on a brand new product. The main crux of the role initially will focus on understanding their customers data and presenting it back to them in an understandable way.

There is a large amount of data from various customers already sitting and waiting to be delved into so you will have lots to do from day one - which is great!

The most interesting part about this role is the opportunity to really stamp your authority on how this organisation approaches Data Science. Although they have a tech stack they work to at the moment, they are a business who pride themselves on always being at the bleeding edge of technology. If you have a better idea of how to do something or feel that there is a better tool, language or system they could use - all you have to do is pitch it to the CTO.

The Company:

An award winning tech company who have worked with some of the most recognisable companies in the world and have done pretty much from their inception.

The Directors have always prided themselves on delivering high calibre solutions and their ability to solve even the trickiest of problems.

The Person:

As there are two roles available the CTO is happy to look at applications from a straight MSc / PhD graduate, ideally coming from a Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, Statistics, Physics or similarly numerical/analytical subject.

We're also keen to see applications from more experienced Data Science professionals who are keen to take the next step in their career.

Tech Stack:

As mentioned previously there is a tech stack in place which consists of:

** Python / NumPy / Pyspark

** Apache Spark / Kafka

However, they completely appreciate you may have a experience across similar technologies and are happy to cross train you into their current technologies. If you have any experience of most of the following, please do apply:

** R / MATLAB / Weka / SQL

** Visualisation Tools such as Yellowfin, QlikView, d3.js

** Machine Learning - Decision Trees / Neural Networks / Naive Bayes / Modelling

** Agile / Scrum

** Hadoop / Spark

Salary on offer for this role ranges from £25-40k depending on your experience.

We are also able to offer flexible working as the management team are far more interested in you working smarter not longer. They also appreciate everyone has different commitments, whether that be childcare, varying levels of commute or have a personal project you want to complete.

Alongside this we have pension, life assurance, medical benefits, holiday allowance, cycle to work, childcare vouchers, free fruit etc.
