SALARY: £40k - £55k Depending on Experience

Web-Application Programmers with PHP & MYSQL experience to work both on further development as well as support of bespoke web-applications developed for Clients.

This company, based in Kentish Town, with a small office in Barcelona, develops innovative bespoke LAMP-based web-applications, workflow systems, mobile apps and websites across multiple sectors including Finance, Charity, Health & Government. They comprise of c35 passionate individuals, and Clients include BBC, Enterprise Finance, NHS, Galliard Homes, War Memorials Trust, Against Breast Cancer and Crisis.

You will join a busy team that further develops and supports all their existing bespoke web-based applications where your time will be split between on-going product development and hands-on support activities.

You will need to be a dependable, experienced PHP / MYSQL developer with the confidence and ability to multi-task whilst remaining a clear thinker and communicator.

They would expect you to have a number of years experience working on multiple web-based software applications written using LAMP technology.

The ideal candidate will have:
- 3 years' minimum experience as web-application programmer
- Excellent spoken English (essential)
- Excellent OO PHP and any of the popular frameworks (Zend, Zend 2, Laravel etc)
- Any exposure to JavaScript frameworks such as jQuery, Angular, React, Sencha/ExtJs
- Strong MySQL inc understanding the role of indexing and the use of transactional programming
- GIT version control experience & 3rd party API integrations exposure
- Experience working within an Agile environment (SCRUM/XP)
- The ability to understand the nature, severity & impact of changes to existing code
- The experience of gaining a clear understanding of how existing bespoke applications work at a business and technical level, including configuration & environment.
- Experience making coding changes and facilitating bug fixes along with QA & testing
- A Degree in Computer Science, Maths, Sciences or technically-orientated subject would be looked upon favourably

WordPress experience & responsive CSS using bootstrap or similar would be a bonus.
