Assistant / Project Quantity Surveyor - Civil Engineering Subcontractor - Utilities / Ground work - Lancashire - Permanent Role

The client

Our client is a leading utilities and engineering contractor who are looking for proven Assistant or Project Quantity Surveyor to work with them across multiple utility

related projects. This is an excellent opportunity joining a growing team with a large, secure order book including a secure long term framework of projects in the area.

This is an office based role in the Lancashire area you will be expected to visit sites.



Duties include some (nut not all)

They require a Quantity Surveyor to help manage the contractual and commercial elements and will involve works valuing, payment applications, agreeing variations

You will be responsible for assisting in commercial and contractual aspects of projects, take offs, site surveys, forecasts, variations, procurement, and final accounts

including the formulation and timely submission of interim payment applications taking into account the costs expended to date and any imminent material deliveries.

Some estimating, purchasing, job costing, and health and safety documentation preparation may also be required. The successful candidate must fit into our company's

The candidate

Relevant Qualifications in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.

Experience managing sub-contract packages

Full UK driving licence

Understanding of NEC option C forms.

Confident IT skills, proficient in the use of MS Office in particular Excel

Strong contract administration skills

Strong communication skills

A proven track record in managing commercial contracts and projects to ensure project delivery against agreed success criteria.

Strong commercial awareness with experience in managing disputes including claims resolution.

Excellent Communication skills both written and verbally

Must be an excellent organiser with proven time management skills

Must be flexible in hours of work and some travel
