We are recruiting for part-time, weekend and full-time Support Workers to join a Children's Residential Care provision in Chard, Somerset, working with children with Special Educational Needs, Learning Difficulties, social, emotional behavioural difficulties and challenging behaviour.

This is a permanent position with flexible working hours.


Part-time and weekend: Under 25 years old: £8.10 p/h

Over 25 years old: £8.45 p/h

Full time: Without NVQ Level 3 Childcare and Young Adults = £20,001 per year.

With NVQ Level 3 Childcare and Young Adults = £21,771 per year.

This is based on 165 hours per month. Shifts are 3 x shifts per week 8am-11pm.

About the organisation:

They specialise in providing a safe, secure residential and learning environment for children and young people with special educational needs, learning difficulties, social, emotional behavioural difficulties and challenging behaviour. Children are between the ages of 7-17 and the organisation is accredited by The National Autistic Society for the quality of its provision.

The Role:

* To support children with challenging behaviour in their day to day lives.
* To create and maintain a positive living and learning environment.
* To be able to work as part of a team.
* To be able to work under pressure.
* To be proactive, resilient and empathetic.

Experience and Qualifications:

* At least 2 years experience in a Children's Residential setting and working with challenging behaviour is essential.
* NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Young People is desirable.
* A Full UK and clean driving licence is essential.
* Excellent communication skills.
* MUST have a valid Safeguarding certificate.
* MUST be on the DBS update service.
* MUST be 25 years or above.
