LOCATION:  Denbighshire

DURATION:  Temporary Ongoing

START DATE:           ASAP

HOURS:         37 per week (Mon – Fri)

 

BRC are recruiting on behalf of a well-respected charitable Housing Association for a Floating Support Worker on a temporary basis to cover the Denbighshire area.

 

Our client is a charitable housing association that provides housing and support to men, women, their children and young people across Wales. Their primary support function is to support those escaping domestic abuse, helping them regain their independence.

 

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

o          Manage a small caseload of service users, providing a person centred tenancy support service to empower clients who have experienced domestic abuse to live independently in the community

o          Empower clients to address a wide range of support needs which includes domestic abuse, mental ill-health, substance misuse, ex-offenders and children/young people

o          Use creative ways of ensuring that service users are supported in such a way that their potential for independence is maximised and that they are enabled to achieve outcomes which are appropriate to their needs and wishes

o          Assess service users` needs regularly and work with them to develop a person centred support plan in line with Supporting People or other regulatory requirements and within the timescales required

o          Undertake safety planning within a Domestic abuse refuge / safe house environment when appropriate

o          Signpost, liaise with and facilitate service users` access to other services including; medical, legal, housing, etc.

o          Provide advice to clients surrounding debt & money management and benefit entitlement

o          Support service users to manage their finances, budget and make informed choices about their personal finances

o          Assist service users with benefit and housing applications

o          Support service users to maintain tenure agreements ensuring they fully understand their obligations empowering them to deal with issues relating to housing management, maintenance and repairs

 

To be considered for this role you MUST have:

o          Previous experience of providing a tenancy support service to vulnerable clients, ideally clients who have suffered from Domestic Abuse

o          A full driving license and access to a car
