My client is currently recruiting for a Raw Materials Supervisor to join their current Technical team.

We are looking for a professional, and focused Intake Supervisor to manage the receipt process for all raw materials to site. This individual will ensure all required paperwork and processes are completed and any issues against standards or specifications are raised and resolved in a prompt manner.
The Raw Materials Supervisor will be quality driven and work with both internal and external bodies to ensure raw materials are within specification.
Duties of the role include -

To ensure all raw materials and packaging are checked upon arrival to site or external stores. To advise Manager of any non-conformance to specification
To provide feedback to Buyer and Supplier on quality of incoming materials
To liaise with the Production team on any raw material quality issues and take ownership of ensuring this is communicated out effectively
Liaise with Production, Technical, Process and NPD on new products
Assess and monitor Supplier performance including vendor review
Ensure Concession system is effectively applied and managed (raw material issues)
Provide all paperwork evidence to demonstrate full product traceability in any exercises which include mass balances for customers, BRC, food safety and legality issues in a timely manner
Present at BRC and Customer Audits and provide support on Supplier Audits. You will be involved in developing the on-going positive relationships with customers and external agencies (including Auditors)
Create and maintain raw materials intake Quality Attribute Sheets (QAS)
Maintain and continuously improve raw materials specifications database
Maintain and manage continuous improvement of raw material risk assessment data base including VACCP and TACCP
Maintain traceability matrix
Report non-conforming Products back to Suppliers via Non-Conformance Reports and follow up any corrective actions required
Implement, maintain and update procedures in relation to raw material and packaging intake & storage

This person will take responsibility for the effectiveness of Intake to ensure that the highest standards of food safety are maintained and continuously improved

Essential Requirements for this role:

The successful candidate must have good verbal and written Communication skills
Auditing qualification
Ability to work to deadlines and without constant supervision
1-3 years' experience in food manufacturing or similar role, with good computer skills. Attitude and application are more important than formal qualifications

Desirable Requirements for this role:

HND/Degree (or equivalent) in food technology/science or a related science subject
HACCP LEVEL 2 / FOOD HYGIENE LEVEL 3 or above.
TACCP/VACCP understanding.
Experience in a similar intake role working within Food production; prior experience of Ready Meals

We are looking for individuals with a pro-active and positive approach who are flexible, reliable, and accountable. You should be able to work as part of a team and having a can do attitude is vital. You must be able to work confidently without constant or direct supervision. You must also be able to work alongside other departments within the business, in particular the Operations team.

A good understanding of English and Maths is required. Completing required documentation accurately, and with attention to detail is essential for this role. An intermediate level of computer skills is also essential

This role reports into the Technical Manager

Full training will be given to the successful applicant

Days of work are Monday to Friday and the core hours of work are 6am 2pm. Flexibility is essential for this role as depending on business requirements working hours may vary
