Job Title: Electronics Engineer
Our client is looking for either a graduate Electronics Engineer OR someone with 2+ years of experience and an understanding or interest in Software development, this role carries excellent development opportunities and would be ideal for someone looking to establish themselves within a growing and successful business.

Reporting To: Electronic Technology Manager, daily work instruction from the Lead Engineer (Software and Control)

Existing staff is well established.

This is mainly an office based role with time spent in production if necessary.
Occasional short notice travel may be required.

Qualifications/Experience
• Degree qualified (Electronics engineering, Electronics with Software or similar).
• Ability to read and understand Electrical/electronic/mechanical schematics, drawings and diagrams.
• Competent with test equipment including oscilloscopes and DVM.
• An understanding of software engineering in embedded C or C# or another .Net language.
• Practical workshop skills
• Must speak clear fluent English
• Must be free to travel worldwide with no restrictions

Beneficial skills/experience
• Work with 3phase and high voltage systems.
• An understanding of electrical/electronic CAD software.
• European language ability (in addition to English)

Primary Roles
Design, implement and maintain industrial control systems:
• Design hardware including schematic capture and PCB layout as required to meet business needs.
• Develop, maintain and debug embedded firmware for ARM and PIC microcontrollers using C language, using industry standard best practices including revision control.
• Assist in the development of system user interface.
• Maintain and extend the Remote Monitoring Platform.
• Perform integration of new equipment on a system level.
• Ensure designs and systems comply with relevant safety standards and legislation.

Validate prototype equipment, produce documentation and test procedures:
• Choose, test and evaluate component parts for suitability.
• Exhaustively test all new hardware, software releases and control schemes prior to deployment, testing in a logical manner and documenting findings.
• Write board level test procedures, software test cases and create acceptance criteria.
• Design fixtures and equipment to ease testing in production or at subcontract manufacturers.
• Perform field trials of new equipment with customers as necessary and assist service department with onsite integration of more complex systems.

Support electrical and control aspects of sales, production and service:
• Assist electrical/mechanical design engineers develop a product from prototype through to production.
• Provide electrical/electronic drawing sets and BOMs, assisting in the issuing of jobs.
• Resolve problems reported by Service or Test, provide timely solutions and work to prevent unexpected issues. This may require visits to site as necessary.
• Assist with the commissioning and installation of more complex systems on site.
• Work with the service department to support customers’ post-sales by assisting with fault finding and issue resolution activities.
• Provide expertise on technical matters to internal sales staff and directly to customers.
• Provide training to test and service personnel on the operation and function of new equipment.

Remuneration package
£26,000 - £27,000 = new graduates (job title would be Junior Electronics Engineer)
£30-35,000 = few years’ experience in Electronics (2+ years’)

Pension upon joining the company
Life assurance, after qualifying probationary period (6 months)
Private healthcare and increased pension contributions after further qualifying period (2-3 years)
25 days holiday, plus 8 UK Bank holidays – per full calendar year. Holiday entitlement rises with long length of service.
