£28,000 - £36,000 – 35 hours flexible working / 25 days holiday plus 13 floating holidays / health cover / learning and development ongoing

Reporting to: Commercial Manager within the Design, Delivery & Commercial Team.

Main purpose of the job:

To work within a multi-disciplined group, providing a full range of professional quantity surveying services.

Actively promote the companies vision, values, policies, aims and objectives through personal example and positive direction to ensure that they translate into practical and effective action.

Key Areas of Responsibility

To provide a full range of professional quantity surveying services relating to the improvement, maintenance and repair of a varied traditional and non-traditional property or housing stock.

To provide an effective and efficient pre and post contract quantity surveying services to support the delivery of construction projects ensuring completion of all contract documentation; fully utilising in-house IT support systems

To be part of an effective operational team focused on achievement of service plans and organisational priorities including day to day support of other team members on specific projects; contributing to the development of a collaborative culture throughout the Design, Delivery and Commercial Team.

The Post holder shall have experience in and deliver independently the following commercial elements on multiple projects:

Pre Contract:

• Estimating and budget setting.
• Client Frameworks.
• Procurement of Main Contractor services including: the co-ordination and collation of tender documents (including Bills of Quantities); the analysis of tender returns and be able to undertake post tender negotiations.
• Complete robust tender reports.
• Advise the Client as to the form of contract that should be utilised.
• Production of Main Contract documents via both the JCT and NEC suite of contracts.
• Adhere to the financial and contractual procedures of the company.

Post Contract:

• Provide complete financial control, via monthly financial reporting, and the production of accurate cash flow forecasts.
• Manage and analyse project variations, including extension of time claims.
• Employ risk management.
• When required, give clear and concise advice on Main Contract matters.
• Liaise with the companies Clients to ensure sufficient project funding is in place.
• Value Main Contractor interim valuations.
• Mange the expenditure of Provisional Sums.
• Analyse and agree project final accounts in accordance with the Main Contract.
