Our client, a leading manufacturer and distributor, is looking for an enthusiastic, hard working assistant manager with a flair for design to join their store team on a permanent basis. The client is a dynamic and established organisation with a proven record of continued growth.

You will work successfully as part of the shop team to assist the manager in the day to day running of the store, managing, training and motivating staff as well as generating and processing sales through trade and retail customers.

Responsibilities include:
• Key holder – opening and closing the store
• Assisting the Retail Manager in the running of the store
• Managing, supervising and motivating staff
• Training and developing new and existing team members
• Monitoring and maintaining monthly sales targets
• Serving and assisting customers – providing a high level of expertise and knowledge
• Identifying areas in the product range where improvements are required
• Assisting with store paperwork
• Developing in store displays
• Completing and processing sales effectively
• Stock replenishment
• Keeping up to date with current sales and promotions as well as policies regarding payment and exchanges
• Continuously updating product knowledge
• Ensuring good housekeeping

Suitable candidates will:
• Have a full, UK driving licence
• Be a strong team leader/motivator
• Be an excellent communicator/delegator
• Have a flair for interior design with previous work experience and/or studies in art and design or DIY
• Be passionate about design concepts and proposals and will be able to present these to customers
• Be approachable and friendly
• Be decisive
• Be a problem solver
• Be computer literate
• Be reliable and able to work unsupervised
• Be organised
