A job has arisen for an Area Facilities Manager to work for a Council based in London, the job for the Area Facilities Manager is contract position and will pay up to £18 per hour. The job for the Area Facilities Manager will require someone with proven experience in managing FM contracts, ideally within a public sector FM environment.Job Summary:
* To ensure the corporate facilities management division delivers a client focused service based on robust and positive customer relationship management.* Provide efficient, effective and economic building related facilities services to an allocated department’s operational buildings ensuring the working environment fully supports the council’s modern ways of working.* To work with corporate facilities management technical and project delivery teams, staff and external contractors to deliver a cost effective, sustainable and compliant operational programme across the division’s property portfolio.* Responsible for premises management in operational buildings and ensuring that they are maintained to a safe secure working environment for both staff and visitors
Main Duties
* To proactively engage with customers at all levels within the council to understand and interpret their short, medium and long term business needs in a timely and efficient manner* On behalf of the Client Manager deliver and support all site-based customer/client related facilities management services to ensure that staff are adequately accommodated and supplied with the requisite items of furniture and equipment to meet their business needs in line with financial & departmental policy.* To undertake planned inspection and audit programmes, recording details in the on-site building management compliance manual and where appropriate the database, in respect of property maintenance, compliance, condition and safety.* To respond promptly and confidently to emergency or urgent property management issues as they arise, seeking to resolve them as quickly and as cost effective as possible.* Ensure that the Client Manager is regularly briefed on Service Agreement performance, operational building compliance, works or repair progress and given timely advice on policy options and their implementation.* Support Corporate Facilities Management’s strategic objective of developing its capacity as an intelligent client by assisting in the provision of high quality and timely, property-related management and performance data at the site operations level.* To liaise and consult with the CFM Technical team on property matters requiring input from building surveyors, quantity surveyors, architects, or Mechanical & Electrical Engineers.* To ensure that all Health and Safety regulations, statutory legislation and council policies are adhered to by corporate facilities management staff and support contractors while working on or in Council property.* To have a working knowledge of complex building, property and IT services ensuring council dependencies or services are not affected or hindered by project work or third party contractors.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
* Knowledge of operational facilities management* Knowledge of mandatory and statutory building compliance (Fire, Water Hygiene, Asbestos etc.)* Have hard FM bias, knowledge or experience of technical services* Health and Safety qualification (IOSH or equivalent)* BIFM qualification or evidence of ongoing professional development.* Substantial experience of building customer relationships in a large multi-site blue chip or government organisation* Experience of managing FM Contracts
