Penguin Recruitment are delighted to represent a highly successful Planning and Design Consultancy, who are currently seeking a talented Senior Environmental Planner to join their thriving Environmental Planning team in Manchester and work on a broad range of environmental planning projects.

Our client operates nation-wide and provides leading environmental planning services to the residential, commercial, energy and infrastructure sectors. The successful Senior Environmental Planner will be based in their Manchester office and be the main point of contact for town planning and design colleagues and clients from their other offices across the UK.

Key responsibilities and duties will include:

* Managing Environmental Impact Assessments with senior level support
* Preparing fee proposals
* Building good relationships with the planning and design teams in our northern offices and their clients
* Managing project budgets and invoicing
* Undertaking site visits
* Producing high quality written reports and reviewing other technical documents to extract the key technical information
* Preparing socio-economic and health impact assessments, EIA Screening and Scoping Reports, waste reports, Strategic Environmental Assessments, etc.
* Liaising with, and managing, other professionals, for example, landscape architects, transport engineers, architects, Local Authority representatives;
* Working towards professional membership (next stage of IEMA membership and eventually Chartered Environmentalist).

The successful Senior Environment Planner will have a minimum of 3 years' experience working in environmental planning, EIA and Sustainability Appraisal / Strategic Environmental Assessment. You must hold a relevant degree and have an excellent understanding of environmental and socio-economic issues.
