Prospero Teaching is working alongside an Autism Spectrum Disorder school in Reading, Berkshire, seeking a qualified Drama Teacher for a September start. In this role, half your time will be spent as a Drama Teacher and half as a SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator). Training as a Special Educational Needs Coordinator is not essential, and for the right candidate will be provided.

About the school:

* Caters for high functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder students of high school age, with post-16 provision
* The successful teacher will teach Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 Drama on a 50% timetable to high achieving students
* 50% of your time will be spent working as a Special Educational Needs Coordinator - if you are not a qualified Special Educational Needs Coordinator you are still encouraged to apply!
* You will be working closely with a range of professionals, including Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and support staff
* Class sizes are small, with a maximum of 8 students per class with one teacher and two experienced support staff
* Excellent career progression is on offer, you will not only gain excellent and unique experience with high functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder students, but could receive training as a Special Educational Needs Coordinator.

The successful Teacher must have:

* Qualified Teacher Status with Drama specialism
* Experience with Special Educational Needs students
* The drive to provide specialist and individual learning plans for all students
* Excellent communication skills to liaise with colleagues
* Ability and willingness to contribute to the ethos and philosophy of our schools
* Enthusiasm for partaking in appropriate accredited Continued Professional Development training
