Working with the maintenance lead for The Chocolate Quarter this role will provide support with general building maintenance / repairs and gardening.

Working with the maintenance lead you will assist with the day to day maintenance and gardening of The Chocolate Quarter estate. Your day will certainly be varied with differing requests, both planned and reactive, from many different departments and residents in their homes and the care home. You should feel confident in all areas of typical domestic DIY works and general repairs. You will have a sound knowledge of health and safety legislation and risk assessment.

What we're looking for

Ideally from a maintenance or facilities background you will be able to work independently and understand the need to plan, prioritise and record all the various tasks and requests made of you but ultimately should understand and want to help our residents feel comfortable and well supported in their homes. You will require good communication skills and will certainly need a 'can do' approach, especially as we open, and a cheery disposition. It would be advantageous to have worked with older people or those living with disabilities, communication or memory difficulties.

Hours will vary according to the needs of the site but is expected to be a Monday – Friday role. Flexibility will be required to meet the residents needs and may include the occasional evening or weekend.
