Researcher based in Sheffield City Centre - Full Time - salary circa £32,000!

A unique and extremely exciting position has arisen for a Software Developer to work for one of Sheffield's most innovative and forward thinking employers.

You will be working in one of the most exciting research teams alongside European partners contributing to the development of software tools and applications.
You will be involved in all stages of the software development lifecycle from project definition and requirements elicitation though to development and full scale piloting within a law enforcement environment.

As the Software Developer you will be expected to;

* Contribute to the end-to-end software development process on various projects in technologies
such as Java 8, MVC, databases, RESTful web services and web technologies
(HTML/CSS/JavaScript)
* Work collaboratively with colleagues in the research centre/area on research projects, being a
member of various project teams as appropriate, working flexibly to support others
* Carry out research and analysis within appropriate research projects, with overall research
questions and objectives defined by others
* Undertake literature reviews to research the subject area
* Design research tools within overall agreed research methodology e.g. design of research
questionnaire or experiment for approval by the project leader
* Gather data using a range of suitable techniques
* Analyse qualitative and quantitative data gathered through experiments / fieldwork
* Write up results of own research and contributes to writing project reports and papers for
publication
* Contribute to writing conference papers and journal articles
* Occasionally attend conferences and contribute to presentations with colleagues e.g. on project
findings or progress
* Occasionally lead on small projects
* Continually update knowledge and understanding in field or specialism
