Capita IT Resourcing is currently recruiting for a Project Manager to join our key, not-for-profit client based in Manchester.

Job purpose

Responsible for the successful delivery, of one or more projects, which could be IT or non-IT focused, and associated outputs that meet programme and business needs. Delivering exceptional service and value for money ensure that projects meet time, cost and quality requirements.

Key accountabilities

1. Ensure that project outputs and outcomes are clearly articulated and that progress to their achievement is effectively managed.
2. Lead on and deliver key project processes and products, to include stakeholder risk, benefits and communications management.
3. Produce core project components such as PIDs plans and business casts in a way facilitates understanding and decision making and develop supporting products as required.
4. Plan effectively for the whole project lifecycle - with approved clear migration from project to BAU.
5. Clarify Project critical path and ensure this is delivered.
6. Work with colleagues in Business Solutions and elsewhere in the company to ensure that project plans are in line with wider capacity plans and resources are available to meet needs.
7. Define, apply and maintain proportionate application of project methodology
8. Work closely with the company and Business Solutions colleagues to drive the assigned projects forward and to ensure that any issues impeding progress are identified and resolved in a timely way
9. Proactively identify exceptions as early as possible to take corrective action. When necessary escalate early with an options appraisal, including the recommended option.
10. Maintain outstanding working relationships with Project Executive, Programmme SRO, Programme Manager and Business Change Manager. Develop and maintain effective working relations with all key stakeholders; communicating appropriately to ensure a clear understanding of the project's progress at all times.
11. Ensure the delivery of both the cost and benefits aspects of the business case, taking responsibility for budget management and reporting for assigned projects.
12. Lead and motivate the project team, driving best practice, developing skills and ensuring learning are captured.
13. Actively support coach and mentor the Trainee Project Managers, driving best practice and demonstrating application of good governance and lessons learned specific to the current project.
14. Set challenging objectives for the team members and monitor progress through regular feedback and coaching.
15. Guide the team members through relevant transformational activities, ensuring the team members remain motivated and engaged.
16. Drive professional development and actively facilitate cross skilling.

General accountabilities

1. To model leadership behaviours with confidence and to get the very best from direct reports and teams by providing clarity, feedback, coaching and development, while continuously seeking to enhance performance in line with business objectives.
2. To comply with all policies and other legislative requirements, including but not limited to HSE, Equal Opportunities and ISMS.
3. Where business needs change, to undertake other responsibilities which are of a commensurate level outside the terms of this role profile.
