The David Ross Education Trust is now recruiting for a Student Welfare Officer/School Receptionist. This role at Bobby Moore Academy could be the ideal next step in your career.

About the role

To deliver administration and support functions for the academy that relate to the care and welfare of pupils. The post would be well suited to somebody from a nursing/school welfare background

Salary & Benefits

* Circa £20,000
* Access to Teachers/Local Government Pension Scheme.

Who we are looking for

* Either: Working at or towards national occupational standards (NOS) in business and administration and knowledge / skills equivalent to current national qualifications level 3
* Or: A nursing qualification
* First Aid at Work Qualification
* Sound knowledge of Data Protection, Safeguarding and confidentiality issues
* Commitment to undertake further training as required, such as training on Downs Syndrome, ADHD, Autism Epilepsy, use of Epi-pen, allergies, etc.
* Good written and verbal communication skills to provide advice, guidance and support to Principal, teachers, other academy employees, pupils, parents and health organisations
* Establish and maintain effective and constructive relationships with pupils, parents and carers, communicating with them as appropriate to share information, and inform them of academy business through daily contacts and written communications
* Undertake student reception/main academy reception duties dealing with students/visitors as required, using courtesy and tact
* Experience as an office assistant or in another relevant administrative role with a good understanding of office procedures.
* Proven organisational and time management skills, works with a high degree of attention to detail and discretion
* Analytical abilities and aptitude in problem-solving. Resolves student welfare/first aid issues.
