Wybone is a well-established, dynamic and innovative manufacturing company, specialising in street furniture, litter and recycling bins and clinical waste sackholders. Supplying into Local Authorities, the NHS and blue chip companies throughout the UK.

There is an opportunity for an experienced CAD/CAM programmer within Wybone to create laser and punch programs and support in the general running of the design office, assisting with design revisions and communicating between design and production, keeping all programme records up to date and helping to maintain production quality and consistency.

The responsibilities of the role include:

* To create laser and punch programs- checking BOM's (Bill of Materials), components, dimensions, drawings and scheduling them to the laser operator
* To create BOM's for all sheet metal production orders to ensure production staff have a list of required parts for laser cutting/punching prior to manufacture
* To liaise between production and design ensuring a high level of communication between the departments
* To work to improve design control by ensuring any old files, both digital and hard copies are archived and changes made are documented on the design register
* To work in line with ISO 9001:2008 requirements
* To be aware of and to adhere to deadlines, regularly checking and updating progress on the registers
* To be aware of the manufacturing processes and capability, to enable the department to create workable designs
* To contribute within the team, and to offer new ideas and improvements

* To provide occasional cover on production if required

The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year's experience of programming punch and/or lasers, also possessing excellent communication and organisational skills.

The candidate will ideally have knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing techniques and materials and will need to be confident working both independently and within the team in addition to liaising closely with production and design staff.

It is essential that the candidate is competent with laser and punch programming and scheduling, DR ABE would be desirable over other programming software but we appreciate that these skills are transferable. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel will be necessary, as would the ability to read engineering drawings. Experience of using 3D CAD would be advantageous.
