Kinetic PLC are looking to recruit for a leading manufacturer based in Greater Manchester. They are one of the world's leading manufacturer of fabrics and systems and are looking for a Polymer & Coatings Chemist to join their expanding facility.

The role of the Textile Chemist / Polymer Chemist is to assist in the development of coating formulations and to monitor the performance achieved.

As the Textile chemist, you will be required to:
*Assist in the development of fabric coating formulations and the measurement of the physical and mechanical performance of the resulting product.
*Ensure all development and testing work is fully documented in a clear and logical format.
*Responsibility for the correct implementation of recipes and procedures for the production mixing plant.
*Ensure correct training with the Production Managers and operators in safe handling and the use of PPE where applicable.
*Ensure an accurate and current database of chemical MSDS is maintained.
*Assist in the training of both Management and Operatives in the correct and safe use of chemicals, mixing systems, and formulation used.
*Assist in the introduction of new formulations, products and procedures, on the coating and mixing plant.
*Gain a detailed understanding of the systems and operational running of the mixing department and colour kitchen.
*Monitor and liaise with the Chief Chemist regarding chemical stock inventory, storage requirements, and the safe storage of chemical products
*Assist the Colour Chemist and Q.C. Manager with Q.C. systems and procedures
*Undertake any other projects as defined by the General Manager. These to include Environmental and Health & Safety.

As the Textile Chemist, there are specific qualifications and experience required in order to be successful:
*Recognised qualification in textile chemistry, colour chemistry or chemistry with experience in a textile manufacturing environment.
*Knowledge of polymer coating chemistry and application would be advantageous.
*Evidence of strong analytical skills.
*Excellent communication skills

This is a permanent position starting after a successful interview. The details of which are below:
*£28,842.00 (inclusive of Shift Allowance)
*2 shifts 13:00-22:00 and 06:00-15:00
*28 days holiday rising after probation
*Auto enrolled into contributory pension at 4% - deferred for 3 months
