National Credit Control ManagerLocation: IslingtonSalary: £35k to £40k DOEPosition: PermanentShift: Monday to Friday, 9am - 5.30pmBerkmann Wine Cellars is a family owned wine business that has been successfully trading since 1964 and has a vacancy for a newly created position of national credit control manager based at our offices in London, N7. JOB FUNCTION You must be a self-starting, proactive and hands-on operator that thrives in a fast paced environment. Excellent communication skills, diplomacy and strong organisational skills plus a keen eye for detail are essential for this role.You will be an important member within the finance team, working closely with the Finance Director to maximise cash collection, minimise bad debts and exposure to risk.You will need to deal with issues as they occur and will be comfortable developing relationships with our internal and external customers, warehouse teams, and all other relevant departments across Berkmann Wine Cellars, to ensure we are all delivering "exceptional service" at all times. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
* You must have a minimum of 2 years credit control management experience.* You must have excellent keyboard skills and not be afraid to learn new computer processes.* We require excellent oral, written communication and organisational skills.* You must have the ability to manage a small team in order to meet daily, weekly and monthly deadlines.* You need to have problem solving skills with the ability to work proactively with other departments.* You must have an excellent knowledge of customer requirements and expectations.* Must be computer literate, using Microsoft word and excel.* You must hold or be studying for the ICM qualification
* Lead and develop a team of five credit controllers* Manage guide and support the credit control team* Identify and manage individual team member performance statistics* Manage relevant HR responsibilities, including annual leave requests, performance reviews and annual appraisals.* Lead and support credit control team to hit collection targets* Distribute workload and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to credit control team members* Oversee the credit controllers as they identify the creditworthiness of new and existing customers* Prepare and execute collection plans targeted to reduce DSO* Credit limit management including establishing a formal procedure for increasing credit limits where appropriate* Debtor reporting regarding risk, debt and credit exposure and management of credit limits* Handle disputed accounts tactfully and professionally.* Oversee, set up and agree appropriate payment plans to manage customers' short and long term financial issues* Enforce company credit policy compliance, regulatory and legal compliance, credit transaction integrity and timely completeness of all sales ledger transactions.* Undertake complex reconciliations* Manage and update policies regarding late payment accounts and improve the company's DSO* Complete understanding of legal processes including enforcement options, contentious litigation matters and clients in liquidation.* Completion of bad debt reporting for Financial Director* Monthly updates for Financial Director and reports to MD as and when required.* Chasing debt by telephone, email and letter.* Take a lead role in e-learning as the business changes computer systems early 2018.
