Support Worker – Full time, Part time, Weekend, Day and Night

Information about the role

We are looking to recruit support workers who are passionate and determined in making a difference in the lives of individuals living within a residential or community setting.

Person specification:
• Preferably NVQ 2 or 3 in Social Care or willingness to work towards or relevant support work experience
• Ideally Previous Support work experience or experience working within a community or residential setting
• The ability to provide practical and emotional support to adults with learning disabilities
• You will need to be confident with supporting clients with personal care, assisting clients in the community and be able to empower clients to be as independent as possible
• As a support worker, it is essential that you have the enthusiasm, energy and drive to take a person-centred approach and support clients to reach their potential.
• Good communication, having a flexible approach, being able to listen, come up new ideas and to support people to plan and to achieve their goals are all essential parts of the role
• Ideally a full UK driver’s license however this is not essential.
• Someone who is reliable and punctual and maintains their time management well.

The Role:
• Support with all aspects of personal care when required, ensuring their dignity is respected at all times.
• Supporting with Domestic care duties
• Supporting with community inclusion and support to access activities within the community or work/ educational placement.
• Providing Psychological and emotional support
• Supporting clients to any medical appointments

Desired Skills and Training:
• An up to date Moving and Handling certificate
• Safeguarding
• Medication Administration
• Person centred Care
