£20,000-£24,000 (Term Time + 4-9 weeks / permanent) plus benefits (F.T.E £26,000)

Our client, an independent boarding college situated in the heart of London with a fantastic track record of supporting students to achieve their results, are looking for an experienced Attendance Officer to improve attendance through the partnerships with colleagues, parents and students.

As the Attendance and Intervention Officer, your main duty will be to ensure that good attendance is prominent and that the students are challenged appropriately. You will also administer the student attendance and staff cover, plus assist with general administration within the college.

Required Skills and Experience

- Ideally having worked in a similar role, within a school or college.
- Able to communicate, challenge and motivate young people.
- An understanding of the issues and problems that impact upon families, which can generate difficulties and impact on attendance.
- Able to work with autonomy, being self-confident and able to make balanced judgements when faced with difficult situations.
- A good understanding of the Child Protection and Safeguarding agenda.
- Be emotionally resilient and able to work effectively in a challenging environment.
- Able to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing), with colleagues and other agencies.
- Able to organise and prioritise a complex workload.
- A competent user of Word, Excel, Outlook and SIMS.
- Methodical and flexible in your approach to work, with a good attention to detail.
