We are looking for an experienced Internal Auditor to join our global client based in Oxford. As part of the Group Internal Audit team you will provide independent assurance to the Audit Committee, CEO and Group FD by identifying, prioritising and managing risks; ensuring financial and operational controls, relevant laws and corporate governance standards are adhere to.

Our client is part of a global organisation and leader in their field. Although based in Oxford the role involves a considerable amount of travel across all the territories from countries in Latin America to New Zealand and East Asia. Key competencies required:
• Conduct assignments from the audit plan to a high standard and within targeted deadlines and budgets, producing clear and concise audit reports, with constructive recommendations for improvements to processes and procedures.
• Follow up with management on progress being made on all audit recommendations made in previous audit reports.
• Complete assigned functional activities to ensure the department meets the Institute of Internal Auditors standards.
• Lead specific organisational projects as assigned by the Group Director of Assurance including internal GIA projects or ones allocated by the Audit, Finance Committee or senior management.
• Conduct special investigations into cases of alleged fraud and/or serious negligence as requested and agreed with the Group Compliance function providing advice to management on corrective action in accordance with the organisation’s policies.
• Provide independent advice on controls design and risk management through audit assignments.
• Provide input and support to the Group Director of Assurance in the preparation of operational and strategic audit plans.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills:

• Qualified accountant (ACA, CA, CIMA, ACCA, CPA, CIPFA).
• Experience of delivering audits as senior auditor or manager post qualification as part of a professional services organisation or a multinational FTSE 100 – 250 business.
• Solid understanding of internal control structures and risk management frameworks
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Proven ability to effectively interact with people at all levels including stakeholders
• Proactive, flexible “can do” mind-set
• Willing and able to undertake high amounts of regular travel overseas and work, with minimum supervision, in unfamiliar environments.

This role comes with a highly competitive salary of £50,000 to £55,000 plus an excellent benefits package.
