Tradewind Social Care have a wonderful opportunity for a Senior Property Procurement Officer to join the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham.

To contribute to the development and implementation of the Divisional Property Procurement Strategy addressing the demand for accommodation, providing managerial reports as required. To have responsibility for managing officers facilitating the acquisition of accommodation, monitoring contracts and validating payments of fees and other contractual charges.

Main duties:
To be responsible in line with Corporate and Departmental procedures for the direct line management of staffing including the recruitment, induction and work allocation so as to ensure adequate levels of service and support
To carry out and arrange site inspections to assess the suitability of properties which may be included in accommodation schemes and produce detailed site notes on the physical condition
To negotiate and secure an adequate supply of accommodation for single vulnerable households and to liaise with 'Supporting People' and 'Social Services' to assist in developing support for such households
To be responsible for the monitoring and validation for invoices for the payment of fees and other contractual charges and all other payments made by the Property Procurement Team and producing reports for Property & Place Manager and Social Lettings Manager as required
To assist in identifying property types, location and standards with respect to all property supply
To carry out other unspecified duties consistent with the job purpose as may arise from time to time

Essential skills and experience needed:
To be fully familiar with the council's safety policy and codes of practice and guidance relating to their area of work and ensure that all duties and responsibilities are discharged in accordance with them
The ability to supervise a team of staff developing and maintaining projects to supply accommodation for homeless households
The ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally, and negotiate with the landlords and other agents to procure and manage suitable accommodation
The ability to evaluate property conditions and understand principles of property maintenance

Job requirements:
Must have a minimum of 3 years recent experience working within the same role
An enhanced DBS of satisfactory level is essential
