Job Title: Senior Strategic Investment Manager

Reports to: Head of Representative Office

Job purpose:

London Representative Office of Kazakh Joint Stock Company Sovereign Wealth Fund Samruk-Kazyna JSC is looking for a Senior Strategic Investment Manager to join their growing team in London. Joint Stock Company Sovereign Wealth Fund Samruk-Kazyna JSC was founded in accordance with the Decree of President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The key purpose of Samruk-Kazyna JSC is to manage shares (interests) of national development institutions, national companies, and other legal entities it owns to maximize their long-term value and competitiveness in the world markets. The Senior Strategic Investment Manager will have a wide range of duties and will be used to manage multiple strands of activities. The position for Senior Strategic Investment Manager is a newly created role due to pure growth.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

· Liaise with the Head of Representative Office and Director of Department of Investors Relationship to determine the range of investment opportunities;

· Analyses economic, social, legal and other data, and plan, formulate and direct at strategic level the investment operations of the Representative Office;

· Decide on the strategic development policy based on market research and liaise with the Head of Representative Office and Director of Department of Investors Relationship to obtain the approval;

· Prepare, or arrange for the preparation of reports, forecasts or other information;

· Develop investment, privatization, IPO strategies and set its targets;

· Discuss strategic partners and investors requirements, create and carry out surveys, analyse customers reactions to services, price, etc.;

· Prepare proposals for marketing campaigns and promotional activities and undertake market research;

· Present your ideas to the Head of Representative Office and Director of Department of Investors Relationship on new services and their development based on your market research and implement them, once the approval has been obtained;

· Plan and organise the promotion of new investment and privatisation strategies;

· Recruit and train junior staff if needed;

· Produce reports and recommendations concerning investment and privatisation strategies for the Head of Representative Office and Director of Department of Investors Relationship;

· Hold negations with potential investors and potential partners;

· Keep up to date with competitors and services they offer;

· Keep up to date with current market conditions and identify opportunities for the business development;

· Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company's unique selling propositions and differentiators;

· Organise, prepare and make presentations for business clients on relevant investment opportunities that the company offers;

· Meet potential clients, growing and maintaining your network; attend events and conferences which are likely to be attended by potential investors and expand your contacts database, identifying new business opportunities;

· Maintain regular correspondence;

· Ensure all team members represent the company in the best light;

· Submit weekly progress reports;

· Ensure the Representative Office meet its targets;

· Plan regular business development training.

The skills, experience and qualifications required for the post:

As a minimum, the candidate:

· Fluent in English, Kazakh and Russian language;

· Familiar with the methods and nature of business in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan, CIS and EU countries;

· Experience Maintaining the high quality of the corporate loan portfolio, as well as the identification warning signs;

· Experienced user of SAP;

· Experience in integrated financial and accounting reporting model in accordance with the reporting rules and tax legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and internal regulations of multinational Holdings and Banks;

· Experience in making strategic business development plan of the company in compliance with the investment regulations of government companies of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

· Knowledge of the procurement rules in national companies of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

· Outline, manage and implement best practice financial processes and procedures;

· Set up weekly / monthly KPI tracking and reporting;

· Experience of work in a foreign Banks and financial institutions will be highly desirable;

· Experience in conducting negotiations with business communities and official authorities of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the EU;

· Experience with the methods and nature of business in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan, CIS and EU countries;

· Has to have strong oral and written communication skills in English, Kazakh and Russian language;

· Has to be a team player which is very important for small representative offices like Representative Office of Samruk Kazyna JSC in London;

· Has to have knowledge of investment and privatisation strategies or be happy to receive training in respect of such;

· Ability to extract and manipulate information from different sources;

· Excellent organisational skills;

· Has enthusiasm and ensure a positive, eager, and responsive attitude;

· International degrees and diplomas will be highly desirable
