Reporting Developer, £22K, Andover

Aim
To develop/re-develop reporting solutions so that they are

- Simple to use
- Clearly designed
- Deliver accurate information
- Documented

 
Purpose of the role
Our client provide school management software to schools in the independent and maintained sector covering both management information systems and financial management.  The role will involve working in a small development team on an existing product set developing new reports and maintaining and improving existing functionality.  The role will also involve talking directly to clients to understand requirements, assist with implementation or to perform problem resolutions, often to tight deadlines. 
 
Key role

In accordance with company procedures:

Develop new reports

- Carry out analysis of the new requirement(s) .
- If new database objects or changes to existing  database objects are necessary, the post holder will design the changes and then seek approval for these changes
- Create any reports that may be required
- Create supporting documentation to assist clients with implementation.

Maintain existing reports

- Carry out analysis of the requirement(s).
- Perform bug fixes
- Enhance existing reports and database objects
- Conversion of existing reports into “Report Builder”

Take part in team-based activities

- System Testing

 
Skills
The post holder will have a working knowledge of all of the following languages and technologies:

- Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Word, Excel)
- VBA
- HTML
- T-SQL

A knowledge of some of the following would also be beneficial:
C#, Database Design, Team Foundation Server, Project Management, Change management processes
