Service Desk Analyst

London - Permanent - £25,000

My client is looking for a Senior Service Desk Analyst who will be responsible for providing customer-focussed, 1st & 2nd line technical support as part of a team aiming to resolve as issues at first point of contact. There is a big emphasis on the seniority of this role, you will act as a technical focal point for the team and will be competent on 1st/2nd line issues.

Main duties:

  • Provide Service Desk support, resolve issues within an agreed SLA or escalate issue to the Infrastructure team if unresolvable by the Service Desk.
  • Desk side support to all users, 2nd line issues to be resolved if possible.
  • Provide support to departmental customers
  • Work within an ITIL process driven environment
  • Undertake IT operational tasks to ensure systems are maintained correctly
  • Dealing with high priority issues within a high pressured demanding environment


  • Relevant 1st & 2nd line support experience, within a busy ITIL Service Desk environment.
  • Delivering excellent customer support by telephone and face to face
  • Good understanding of PC hardware and software set-up and configuration
  • Windows OS
  • Microsoft Office packages
  • Service Desk call logging systems - LANdesk
  • Active Directory
  • Windows Servers
  • Remote user technologies such as Citrix and mobile devices
  • Ability to explain technical issues to non-IT staff at a level appropriate to their own skill level
  • Ability to adapt your communication style to suit the member of staff and situation when dealing with IT support issues
