This fantastic to be part of one of the fastest growing catering businesses in the UK. This role would be to create, drive and implement strategy behind all food and beverage purchasing for a number of key clients in the South East & London. Buying a range of ingredients foods, whilst negotiating the best deals or the business and keeping quality high.

The catering part of the business is a fast growing part of a well known larger blue chip businesses and needs food procurement specialists to help grow the already established client base in the south east of England and London.

Description

This is a senior management position within the business, supporting the procurement function as well as our growth strategy in London and the South East. The primary focus is to enhance our diverse but sustainable supply chain, sourcing fantastic suppliers and products whilst reviewing key categories of spend to drive commercial performance

The role includes;

  • Responsibility for effective procurement of Meats, Produce, Seafood and drinks - circa £20m spend
  • Developing long term relationships with suppliers

  • Drive commercial value across the catering category spend to achieve budgeted targets, in line with business growth strategy, driving change and best in class procurement sourcing.

  • Working with a range of internal stakeholders such as Operations, NPD and Chefs

  • Using continuous improvement tools and processes to effectively drive sustainable business growth opportunities and maximise the overall commercial value from through the category development process.

  • Support the overall growth strategy for London and the wider business managing the supply chain to meet business objectives and commercial targets.

  • Support delivery of the procurement budget, leveraging commercial opportunities across the group in line with the procurement and business' strategy.

  • Mitigate risk within the supply chain through supplier audit activity and Business Continuity Plans.

  • Support client and bid pipeline, implementing procurement initiatives from initial bid stage onwards.

Profile

  • A passionate 'foodie' with a solid procurement background
  • Experience sourcing ideally within the foodservice, retail or catering industries.

  • Excellent Commercial acumen in line with business scale and spend.

  • Proven, solid influencing and negotiation skills.

  • Strong Stakeholder management and personal development experience with the ability to challenge and inspire team members.

  • Experienced analytical skills, ideally aligned to e-commerce experience and knowledge.

  • Understanding of trends with market insight and developing food trends across a range of sectors.

  • Educated to degree level or with ideally MCIPS qualifications.

Job Offer

between £60,000 and £65,000 (based on experience)
