Senior Factory Services & Production Engineer

North Somerset

£35,000-£40,000 + benefits

Our client is an entrepreneurial, fast growing SME operating in a high quality, manufacturing and service sector. Due to ongoing growth, they now seek to appoint a highly-motivated individual to take ownership of new projects as well as the existing factory services function.

Due to the nature of their work being supplied to OEMs, they are compliant with all their required quality standards, meaning it is a "best practice" environment, yet it is a smaller, more entrepreneurial business, making this a unique place to gain a broad set of skills, commercial, customer facing, technical etc. They are committed to driving continuous improvement and strategic development, and pride themselves on mentoring and developing their people. It is a culture in which, whilst supported, you will be given the opportunity to take ownership, make decisions and stand on your own feet.

Key to the success of this appointment will be practical problem solving, effective communication, strong decisiveness and a drive to develop and improve processes and systems. This is a business undergoing significant change and requires teams to effectively adapt and react positively to growth and/or market opportunities. Additionally, there is an expectation that continuous improvement should be truly embedded within the culture, with the workforce actively seeking ways to improve customer service, putting customer needs at the centre of decision making.

In the role of senior factory services & production engineer, you would be heavily involved in the installation of a brand new assembly line for a recently awarded major new contract, after which there would be scope to take on responsibility, with support, for the facilities, maintenance and commissioning of the entire site.

  • Practical working experience in a Factory Services and/or Production Engineering role essential, preferably for a period of 5+ years.
  • Compilation of Engineering Drawings and planning Layouts on CAD.
  • Experience of programming production line PLCs.
  • Experience of organising contractors & supervising Installation of equipment.
  • Design tooling and equipment to support improvement of current and new processes.
  • Awareness of operating within an ISO9001or TS16949 Quality environment and how this impacts daily working / projects.
  • Experience of running and improving a TPM system.

For the right person this is an exciting opportunity with a business that operates at the highest levels of quality and has real momentum. The role offers significant potential for career progression whilst also offering complete autonomy. The group is growing both organically and through acquisition, and progression will be limited only by your own ability.

If you are ambitious and capable and seeking a new challenge / next rung on the ladder, we’d like to hear from you. If you are interested in more information please apply now on-line or contact Laura Hook at Rockfield Specialist Recruitment
