The selected Senior CAD Technician will have a variety of roles and responsibilities to ensure the smooth running of projects, they will include:

  • Creating quality and accurate design solutions that meet required specifications
  • Liaising with team members to achieve quality design solutions that fit the client brief
  • Ensuring a safe working environment
  • Contributing to the training and development of other CAD team members
  • Ensuring quality of delivery when producing and updating CAD drawings
  • Thoroughly checking the accuracy of deliverables
  • Maintaining drawing records
  • Keeping up-to-date with design trends and techniques
  • Creating strong relationships with clients

The ideal candidate is required to have a proven track record in HV Underground Cables, Primary Substation Equipment and OHL Draughting more particularly in the following sectors:

  • Transmission and distribution substations
  • HV underground cables
  • Overhead lines (OHL)

The essential skills, experience and attributes for this role include:

  • High level of familiarity with AutoCAD (2D & 3D) and Bentley 2D Software
  • Ability to prioritise workload
  • Good ability to produce accurate design drawings from survey information
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Friendly and approachable attitudes
  • Excellent time and cost management skills
  • Organisational, projects management and planning skills, with the ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work well in a team of professionals, as well as individually
  • Keen eye for detail and a high level of creativity, imagination and enthusiasm
