Helping someone into work isn’t all about job starts. Sometimes you need to look at the big picture and help people tackle other areas in their life to develop a grounding for employment. If this reflects your ethos, and you want to work for a huge charity, with great benefits (28 days annual leave), then this might be a good move for you….
The charity are delivering a specialist ex-offender contract which has another 2.5 years to run. You will be working with ex-offenders that have recently been released from prison, across three probation centres in Southend, Grays and Basildon, so you will be managing your own day and diary. You will deliver an initial assessment, and then put together a plan to help the progress and re-integrate back into society in partnership with the probation services. You will have targets to work to, but these will be progress measures, which could include helping your client enlist on a college course, registering with a drug and alcohol support agency, or securing employment.
It’s a challenging role, and to apply, you need to want to work with this client group and make a real difference. You will have a welfare to work or DWP background ideally, or might be from the criminal justice or support work sector with some exposure to helping people into employment. The most important aspect is that you have some exposure to working with ex-offenders.
Please apply via this advert. If you would like to discuss the role first, please call our office and ask for Riccardo. And if by chance you have applied and not heard back, please email us at the Hello email account, and we guarantee to get back to you with feedback (phone number and email address on the Red 5 Solutions website).
