Job Details

 £32,839 per annum for 36 hours per week based primarily at Consort House, 5-7 Queensway, Redhill, Surrey, RH1 1YB. But you will need to be prepared to work from both Consort House in Redhill and Quadrant Court, 35 Guildford Road, Woking GU22 7QQ and travel countywide, therefore access to your own transport is essential.

An enhanced DBS ‘Disclosure and Barring Service’ check for regulated activity (formerly known as CRB) and the Children’s and Adults’ Barred List checks will be required for this role.

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time supervising social worker, with an interest in developing our fostering focus for teenagers and young people who cannot live with their birth family.

The successful candidate will be part of a vibrant, creative fostering service that works with the theories of trauma, attachment and loss, social pedagogy and restorative practice to ensure the best outcomes for our children. The role will be to recruit, assess and supervise foster carer’s who primarily care for teenagers. You will also be required to carry out general tasks within the wider fostering team.

You need to be a qualified Social Worker registered with HCPC, with relevant experience of working with children and young people. You will have a comprehensive knowledge of legislation relating to Looked After Children. You need to be able to work directly with the wider public, foster carers and young people, and be able to produce clear, analytical assessments.

Self-motivated and accustomed to working to deadlines, you will have good IT and communication skills, with experience of establishing and nurturing multi-agency relationships. The role is primarily based within the Fostering East team in Consort House, Redhill, but you will need to be prepared to work from both Consort House in Redhill and Quadrant Court in Woking and travel countywide, therefore access to your own transport is essential.
