At Metropolitan we have been very busy and successful in securing the opportunity to provide services to YOUR local community and we are on the hunt for some fresh talent to join our team and be instrumental in our success.

We are looking for an experienced Floorer to join our team. As a Floorer you will undertake Flooring and repairs and maintenance work, to provide high quality, `right first time`, cost effective building services to the business and its customers, adhering to the Metworks Safety, Health and Environment Policy requirements at all times.

About the Job:

You will identify and undertake Flooring and associated work as directed and carry out extended skill activity as required and within competency, liaising with other employees as necessary in order to complete specified works.
You will ensure levels of productivity and work within the required timescales / categories or to targets and receive, plan and complete job orders on time and to quality.
Ensure that all relevant documentation is processed and systems are completed in a timely manner.
Conduct work in accordance with current legislation, British Standards, Codes of Practice, safe systems of work and recognised industrial standards for such work, minimizing damage to the fabric of the property
Undertake essential reinstatement work as necessary in order to ensure premises are left in a safe secure and weather tight condition.
You will undertake visual inspection of all tool, equipment and where appropriate vehicles ensuring they work correctly, reporting any defects. Comply with formal periodic testing checks.
Act in a professional manner at all times
Ensure protective clothing and Health and Safety equipment provided is used correctly and when required, in accordance with risk assessments.
You will follow agreed procedures when working in occupied properties to ensure resident safety and security.
You will deal courteously and efficiently with clients, customers and the general to maintain and enhance the reputation of Metworks

About you:

You will have a qualification at NVQ 2 or equivalent
Must have Asbestos Awareness certificate
Must have the ability to undertake associated trade tasks

Desirable but not essential:

Abrasive Wheel Training
PASMA Qualification
Ability to read Construction Drawings
Experience of working within a Social Housing environment
Undertake pre-start risk assessments
