SOUS CHEF - £21-25,000 - independent pub -

An independent village pub with a popular bar and restaurant. Due to their continued growth they are looking for a Second Chef to assist the Head Chef with the day to day running of the kitchen.

With a small team they prepare fresh, seasonal cuisine incorporating all the pub classics along with some Mediterranean influences. Everything is made in house including the desserts so an interest in pastry would be an advantage.

On average they cater for 40-50 covers per service and this goes up to 70 on a busy evening or Sunday lunch. As Second Chef you will be involved in all aspects of running the kitchen including contributing ideas for the menus, ordering, stock control and maintaining all the health, hygiene and safety procedures.

Ideally they are looking for an enthusiastic chef who feels passionately about cooking with fresh, seasonal produce.

Benefits include a generous salary, a four and a half day week with Sunday evening, Monday and Tuesday off, although they can be flexible for the right person if this does not suit.
