An excellent opportunity has arisen to join a world leading global organisation, our client Unilever are currently looking for a Global Senior Brand Development Manager (Laundry / Water Innovation) based at Unilever's prestigious facility in Blackfriars. This is a full time temporary role for a period of up to 12 months, working a 36.25 hour week. This role is paying up to £62000.00 per annum, pro rata, depending on experience.

Water is fundamental to doing laundry and to the success of our Laundry business. Innovating through the lens of water, providing solutions to people in water scarce and water abundant markets, as well as those with poor quality water, we can create value for People, the Planet and deliver Profit for the business.

The innovations that the Water team work on have application across our portfolio of brands. The team and the role is not a 'usual' marketing role in the sense of leading a brand - this is different. You need to be able to work collaboratively with brand teams as well as functions and markets, to lead and land relevant projects.

The Role

Your role as Senior Global Brand Development Manager Laundry Water Innovation will be to deliver, as well as expand the reach of the current innovation programme, in parallel to identifying new and significant opportunities for the future. Acting now, for the future world of less water, is ensuring our future business.

The strategy of Holistic Value Creation, delivering for People, Planet and Profit sits at the heart of the Water innovation programme, which focusses on the consumer needs and benefits of today, as well as tomorrow. Using less water for Laundry solutions gives us an opportunity to deliver superior benefits, thus future proofing our brands and creating holistic value for the laundry category.

In this role and with the team, you will deliver a series of innovations fitting with the strategic framework, specifically:
*Implementing current plans as a matter of urgency, working closely with brand teams and markets
*Leading work on the programme to develop a new platform, portfolio play for the category and funnel build future innovation in this space.
*Co-creating the new future strategy for the water team to future proof our business
*Managing a series of cross-brand projects to deliver the innovation either through usual Unilever ways or alternate routes to market; involving finding a supply chain solution, developing a brand / market relevant mix and managing through the global innovation funnel

Key Skills/ Experience needed:

The nature of the projects led by the Water team are inspiring yet complex and often breaking into new sub categories and using new technologies. Thus, things are not always straightforward and two steps forwards can be followed by one step back. You need to be able to manage this within yourself and the team, demonstrating resilience, flexibility, maintaining momentum and with a strong will to find a way.

Significant experience in marketing, preferably with experience of leading complex global projects where it's not always a straight line from A to B.
*Excellent project management experience (global or regional)
*Strong stakeholder management skills across work levels, functions, cultures and geographies
*Excellent strategic thinking with the ability to clearly articulate ideas and simplify complex situations
*Excellent team leading skills and experience of managing a small team on a day to day basis
*Financial acumen
*Ability to generate new insights from consumer work, and turn these into 'new to the world' innovations.
*Leadership skills to galvanise action in the face of uncertainty or 'new to the world' situations
*D&E (Developing & Emerging) experience preferred
*Strong evidence of close partnering with R&D
