A successful Local Authority based in South West London is seeking a highly skilled Information and Governance Officer to join their team immediately.

The Council is seeking a person to manage the Council's response to:
*Freedom of Information
*Environmental Information Regulations and
*Subject Access requests in order to meet performance targets and to issue refusal notices on behalf of the council.

The post-holder will advise council officers on legal compliance with Freedom of Information, Environmental Information Regulations and Data Protection matters.

You will be expected to:
*Decide on exemptions on behalf of the council and provide advice to officers
*Respond to complaints from the Information Commissioners Office on Freedom of Information, Environmental Information Regulations and Subject Access Requests.

You must have detailed knowledge of the:
*Freedom of Information Act 2000
*Environmental Information Regulations 2004
*Data Protection Act 1998 and their application to local authorities.

You must also have excellent communication skills, be capable of working under pressure, demonstrate good self-organisation, political sensitivity and attention to detail, be able to work effectively in a team and have a commitment to flexibility.
It is desirable if you have experience of FOI casework will be required for these posts.
