TEACHING VACANCY - English Teacher (Media desirable)

We are looking for an English teacher who can preferably offer media to join this rapidly expanding provision in the Royal Borough of Greenwich which meets the needs of young people with diagnoses of Autism and severe mental health concerns.

You will ideally have experience with high functioning youngsters on the spectrum but more importantly will be an outstanding teacher with a can do attitude and the resilience to work with our challenging cohort of bright, energetic young people. You will also be excited by the prospect of working in a dynamic, forward looking environment where risks are encouraged in order to achieve results. You will join a team of dedicated professionals who have worked hard to establish King’s Park, at a time when our success is leading to an accelerated expansion programme. Trained to teach within KS3-5, you will preferably have experience of teaching English at KS3 and 4, Functional skills and media at KS4. KS5 experience is also an advantage.
It is desirable that you have experience working with young people with ASD using specific interventions such as TEACCH, SPELL framework and SCERTS.

Your role will be to play a key part in the delivery of the national curriculum to their small cohort. You will have a subject specialism but will also be flexible enough and take on responsibility for other subject areas depending on your strengths and the balance of the team. Primary specialists will have a class group and will teach most of their lessons to allow consistency within the classroom.
