A top global practice located in Central London require an Internal Audit & Risk Senior to be responsible for all aspects of delivering risk based internal audit work and risk improvement projects. Working with an interesting portfolio of clients ranging from FTSE 350 global companies to small owner-managed businesses across multiple sectors (retail, technology, energy, manufacturing, entertainment and more) throughout the UK and Europe.

Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for planning and delivering internal audit and consultancy projects;
  • Work with the senior manager to identify, scope and propose on business development opportunities;
  • Responsible for all aspects of planning including developing terms of reference, scheduling teams, coordinating manager and partner activities, developing budgets, facilitating client meetings and performing visits;
  • Designing work programmes including identification of key risks, assessment of the systems and controls and communicating the testing strategy to the other members of the team;
  • Delivering all aspects of fieldwork including ensuring all work is completed to a high technical standard, identifying findings, participating in closing meetings with management and preparation of draft reports in line with agreed timescales;
  • Delegating appropriately and providing on-the-job training and advice to junior staff when required;
  • Analysing, designing and implementing risk and control improvement solutions efficiently and effectively;
  • Assisting with other special assignments (for example, fraud investigations and compliance reviews) as and when required;

Skills & Experience:

  • Part qualified / qualified ACA/ACCA, IIA, CII or equivalent;
  • Experience of delivering risk based internal audits in professional practice or in-house team in the private sector;
  • Previous experience of understand risk issues and helping with the designing and delivering of improvement projects;
  • Willing to travel - 25-50%
  • Ability to express ideas with authority and conviction throughout verbal and written communication;
  • Ability to think creatively, generate innovative ideas, challenge the status quo and deliver work effectively;
  • Ability to identify issues through sound analysis and application of commercial acumen in all situations;
  • Ability to deliver confident and clear presentations of service features and benefits to clients;
