An outstanding rated school by Ofsted based in the atmospheric borough of Southwark are looking to attract a highly skilled English teacher to join them on a full-time, permanent basis starting in September with the opportunity to take the position of 2nd in-charge of the department on once appointed!

The Position:

You will be joining an extremely well structured yet dynamic English department which consists of 4 English teachers including a Key Stage Leader and a Head of Department. Due to an unforeseen retirement within the department this school now need a talented English teacher who has held responsibility before to join them on their journey to achieving outstanding results yet again. Ideally the English teacher joining the school would have experience teaching English to A-level and have held responsibility within a previous role before, however, the school are happy to look at talented English Teachers who are keen to progress with their career in to roles with responsibility.

The department are extremely successful with 84% of students obtaining A* - C in English GCSE results last year and 91% of students obtaining A - C in English A-Level results last year.

Requirements for this role:

You must have:

  • At least 3 years teaching English in the UK
  • A relevant degree
  • UK Qualified Teaching Status (QTS) following a teacher training programme
  • An in date DBS
  • The ability to hit the ground running in an already successful department
