Conference Producers - Energy/HR/Online/Tech - Graduate

Base Up to £33,000+ Lucrative Bonuses (£60k+ Package Year 1)

Location - London (European Languages Beneficial)

The Client….

Provides large scale business conferences with a unique & successful brand, due to continued growth new roles have arisen for experienced conference producers to help launch a number of conferences into key areas such as Energy/HR/Online/Tech

Key Objectives

  • Identify and generate commercially viable and sustainable conference ideas through effective topic generation
  • Produce a pre-agreed number of conferences annually and/or revenue
  • Collaborate with sales & marketing to maximise event profitability


Take full responsibility for the conference including troubleshooting and dealing with problems as they arise.

Topic Generation

  • Through research and internal knowledge, generate commercially viable conference ideas on an ongoing basis
  • Thoroughly test topic viability through in-depth research
  • Provide event feasibility briefs


  • Ensure that conference content is primarily based on market feed-back
  • Research with a mixture of relevant prospects
  • Carry out open-ended research in order to ensure that the market is not biased and that the true picture is gained
  • Define the commercial angle of the conference: 'must know’ rather than 'nice to know’
  • Work closely with sponsorship to ensure that whilst retaining the integrity of the programme, the product is attractive to potential sponsors

Programme Management & Speaker Acquisition

  • Write promotionally-led programme and sales copy that are in the language of the market
  • Develop a programme that is commercially written and totally relating to the results of research
  • Acquire top level speakers as defined during the research phase, and recommended by market experts
  • Always acquire the high calibre Speakers and ensure that you approach ones desired by the market, rather than well known favourites or conference regulars

Deadline Management

  • Meet all deadlines including turning over information for marketing, events management, sponsorship etc
  • Discuss with the manager any potential problems that may affect achieving deadlines to ensure contingency plans can be made
  • Create research led but sponsorable programmes

Candidate Profile


  • At least 1 years + experience producing commercial conferences or commercial sales
  • Experience of launching new topic sectors.
  • Track record in acquiring world-class speakers
  • Track record in establishing strategic partnership and sourcing new joint ventures to grow events
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent research skills with a commercial focus essential
  • Ability to demonstrate successful new event launches in new geographical regions
