Our client, an expert in Safety and the UK's leading supplier of safety equipment, workwear, safety boots and shoes, gloves and maintenance supplies based in Hull are now looking for a Divisional Director of Marketing to lead the creation of customer strategies that ensure achievement of the long term business plans for sales, profit and growth, whilst also leading and motivating a team of 26 marketing specialists.

Main responsibilities are;

  • To lead the creation of customer and market insight that informs the development of the Customer Value Proposition across all business units.

  • To provide the Strategic Leadership Team and Ops Board with customer and market insight, and as part of the SLT collaborate in the development of the long term business strategy.

  • To lead the creation of the 5 year marketing strategy and the implementation of 1 year plan.

  • To be accountable for overall expenditure of £5m and demonstration of ROI delivered.

  • To lead the creation of customer growth strategies by industry sector and to define CVP developments required to achieve growth. Ensure that growth strategies are understood and adopted across the business.

  • To lead the creation of individual strategies for brand, pricing, thought leadership, customer data, customer communications, online marketing, social media and omni-channel customer experience.

    The successful candidate will have;

  • A relevant Degree and be a Chartered Marketer.

  • Up to date knowledge of the market place, in particular our competitor database.

  • Significant senior marketing management experience and experience as a Senior Marketing Manager.

  • Experience in product/brand management, direct marketing including digital marketing, database and cause-related marketing. Some Sales/Trade Marketing experience also preferred and B2B and/or retail experience desirable.

  • A track record of developing and landing new business initiatives.

  • A history of delivering outstanding results.

This role sits just below Board level, but we are looking for someone who will have the bandwidth to step up to a Board position within the next 2-3 years, so ambition is a pre-requisite for this role.
