General Manager, Bar Kick Shoreditch

We are looking for a passionate and experienced general manager who understands the cocktail bar, café & restaurant business and the importance of excellent customer service. The key responsibilities are to generate sales and deliver profit targets by leading, inspiring and developing the team in order to achieve growth. Delivering consistent service and to the highest standard is key to achieve such growth. The ideal candidate is passionate about our brand and products, is an inspirational leader with a talent for recruiting the right people & building a strong team. Strong communication and influencing skills and the ability to coach the team to deliver excellent performance are crucial skills for this position. The right candidate has an eye for detail and the ability to keep and improve brand standards as well the ability to manage both short and long term action plans in order to achieve expansion.

About Us

Bar Kick is one of the most long-lived bars in Shoreditch. Our bar opens in the morning as a café/restaurant and turns into a busy bar/restaurant in the evening. We are not a typical sports bar but we do have a strong emphasis on football and table football in the evenings. We are now looking for a new GM with plenty of experience and a fresh pair of eyes to come on board. We are an independent business with two branches, one in Clerkenwell and one in Shoreditch, with the ambition to open a third branch within the near future.

Job Description

  • Direct all aspects of the venue such as food, drinks and events
  • Keep up to date with licensing legislation, Health & Safety regulations and ensure compliance
  • Adhere to budgets, manage cash flow and turnover
  • Stock taking and ordering
  • Perform accounting duties and opening and closing procedure
  • Hire, supervise, train and motivate staff and guarantee excellent customer service at all times
  • Be the first point of contact for customers and suppliers
  • Communicate your customers’ needs with the team
  • Guarantee quality of food and drinks
  • Set the vision and standards for the site
  • Organise social activities such as table football tournaments and events, taking bookings, following up on bookings and managing events
  • Coordinate filming requests in the venue and provide the necessary set- up
  • Contribute to increase the bars social media presence
