Job Title: Vehicle Builder (Training Provided)
Job Location: Derby, East Midlands
Hourly Pay Rate: £10.22 PAYE/ £12.72 LTD - mornings AND £10.98 PAYE/ £13.73 LTD - afternoons
Pay Increases: 15% after one year's service and a further 15% after another year
Shift Pattern: Weekly rotating between 6am - 2pm and 2pm - 10pm

Hours per week: 37 hours full-time
Duration: On-going contract (1 year+)
Start Date: June/July 2017

THE ROLE:

We are currently recruiting for Vehicle Builders (with full training provided) to join a global leader in rolling stock manufacturing, service and maintenance. Our client is the number one provider of rail solutions in the world and the largest rolling stock manufacturer and provider in the UK with over 70,000 employees in 60 countries worldwide.

Successful candidates will join a team responsible for manufacturing and refurbishing state of the art trains with full training provided. Current projects include an order for 45 four car trains for Lotrain and the manufacturing of nine car trains for the Crossrail development. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking to embark on a successful vehicle building career in the rolling stock industry.

Suitable candidates will take part in a specifically created 1 week training package designed to ensure they are fully competent and ready to begin work. The training course will teach candidates the fundamentals of how to:
- Torque tighten
- Earth bond
- Electrically verify
- Rivnut

In addition to being an excellent opportunity to learn and develop new skills, the training package will also result in an NVQ Level 2 qualification in Business Improvement Techniques once fully competent.

You do not need to have any formal qualifications or directly relevant work experience to apply for this role.

We are looking for candidates with a practical mind-set, who enjoy hands-on work and have a proactive 'can-do' attitude. Some experience, either in a professional environment or during free time, of assembly, fitting or tool exposure would be an advantage for this role.

QUALIFICATIONS: Some basic engineering experience will be advantageous but not essential
