My client are looking to recruit a Graduate New Product Development Engineer for their manufacturing business located in Devizes.

They are a global leader within their industry, and supply various industries including aerospace, power transmission, utilities and telecommunications. This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate, which will involve liaising with other key areas within the business including engineering, quality, purchasing and production.

The main function of the role will be supporting the New Product Development Team, working alongside Senior Design and Development Engineers within the business to create innovative, patentable

The role will include all aspects of design and engineering. The successful candidate will receive in-depth training during a 12 month period as a New Product Development Engineer to enable them to develop into an established project engineer.


* Contribute to concept generation, research and collate supporting information and produce technical specifications.
* Define performance goals and devise a test strategy to ensure that new products meet all necessary requirements, including for function, durability, manufacturability and lifespan.
* Manage multiple projects, taking responsibility for delivering innovative and proven solutions on time.
* Produce detailed designs suitable for manufacture.
* Maintain all project documentation and files, in line with company procedures, to ensure accurate handover to production and compliance with relevant standards.
* Test and evaluate design solutions to ensure functional and quality requirements are achieved and compliant with international standards.
* Liaise with suppliers to produce components for testing and manufacture.
* Provide comprehensive and regular feedback to the Development Manager on all projects, issues and changes.

Skills/Experience Required

* Educated to degree level in Mechanical Engineering
* Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing materials and processes
* Creative and considered approach to problem solving
* Understanding of practical and methodical design development through prototyping and testing
* Ability to plan ahead, prioritise tasks and coordinate with the work of others
* Understanding of basic physical principles
* Experience or knowledge of using 3D CAD packages (e.g. ProEngineer or SolidWorks)
