An exciting opportunity has arose for a Sous chef working for my client based in Berwick:

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Help in preparation of food and design of weekly specials
* Updating menus
* Produce high quality plates both design and taste wise
* Ensure the kitchen operates in a timely way that meets quality standards
* Fill in for the Head Chef in planning and directing food preparation when necessary
* Resourcefully solve any issues that arise and seize control of any problematic situations
* Assist in the management and training of staff
* Stock ordering
* Comply and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards
* Maintain a positive and professional approach with co-workers and customers
* Experience in cooking/working with an Italian menu
* Accuracy and speed in problem solving

This is a permanent position working between 30 and 35 hours working 5 days over 7 on a rota basis, directly reporting into the Head Chef
