Omega Resource Group, We are currently resourcing for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer, you will have extensive experience working within an Automotive manufacturing environment
The main purpose of the role is to support the Plant in maintaining optimum production through provision of correct part and process documentation, Production flow and associated layout creation and support in New Product Introduction.


Applying statistical methods and perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, staff requirements, and production standards.
Coordinating quality control objectives and activities to resolve production problems, maximise product reliability, and minimise cost.
Drafting and designing layout of equipment, materials, and work space to illustrate maximum efficiency, using drafting tools and computer.
Reviewing production schedules, engineering specifications, orders, and related information to obtain knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities.
Communicating with management and user personnel to develop production and design standards.
Estimating production costs and effect of product design changes for management review, action, and control.
Formulating sampling procedures and designs and developing forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
Recording or overseeing recording of information to ensure currency of engineering drawings and documentation of production problems.

You will be a a team member, providing engineering expertise to continuous improvement teams and engineering support
You will Create and own the work Instructions and maintain to the latest standard
Layout control and creation
Play an active role in the day to day operations within the manufacturing process.
Understand customer requirements/expectations.
Collate and own the preparation of FMEAs, PFMEA's and Control Plans and document the output using the necessary systems defined in NPI, APQP, PPAP, and company / customer procedures.
Support production team training in relation to the customer expectations and quality requirements (where necessary).
Be part of the team for recording, progressing, responding and closeout of customer concerns utilising 8D or other problem solving techniques as required.
Preparing product documentation, write reports and give presentations when and where necessary
Monitoring a product(s) in use to improve on future design
Participate in weekly fire safety activities
Conduct failure and hazard analysis for manufacturing support and regarding process improvements
Participate in teams responsible for the procurement and installation of manufacturing equipment through testing, assembling and implementation processes.
Be part of the team for recording, progressing, responding and closeout of internal breakdowns and equipment failures
Play an active role in the site health & safety in line with plant introductions and day to day activities


To stop the production if in conflict with the mandatory standards or legislation (production , supplies , etc. ) and immediately notify management
To ensure all team members are adequately trained and have the appropriate equipment to perform their daily duties
To communicate with all stakeholders within the area of responsibility
Escalate employee relations issues where necessary
To maintain housekeeping standards within the team area
To participate in any training and development required for this position
To carry out any reasonable additional duties as required


To adhere to all company policies and procedures with special regard to Health and Safety
To ensure a safe working environment at all times
To follow safety instructions and fire regulations
To discuss and agree outcomes of safety audits with the Plant Manager
To report any safety issues to Plant Manager

Relevant technical qualification required
Knowledge of basic quality and continuous improvement tools
Excellent organizational skills
Knowledge of statistical and engineering principals is essential.
Ability to read design specifications and technical drawings
Work to British (BS), European (EN) and other technical standards
Experience in a tier 1 automotive company
