Accounts Assistant and Bookkeeper

Salary: Dependent on experience

Position Summaries

Both the Bookkeeper and Junior Accounts Clerk will work as part of the accounts team to provide an efficient, reliable and friendly service to personal and business clients. Each role will vary with key responsibilities;

• Preparing Documents and Accounts accurately and ensuring deadlines are met for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies

• Accurately prepare quarterly VAT Returns and any relevant documents and ensure deadlines are met

• Carrying out general book-keeping for individual clients, some using SAGE

• Accurately maintain and update manual and computer records

• Monitor and report on client activities and provide relevant reports to Client Manager/Managing Director

About you

The successful candidates will have experience of working in a busy accountancy office environment and must have gained experience working within a firm of accountants, along with the following skills and experience

• Accurate IT skills; proficient in Microsoft Office programmes.

• Have experience using SAGE

• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to confidentially, sensitively and diplomatically deal with a range of clients, colleagues and secure information.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Effective personal organisation and time-management skills; able to use own initiative and work effectively as part of a team

• Willing to occasionally work outside regular office hours when required and undertake general office tasks
