Our client based on the outskirts of Cardiff is looking for a Pricing Analyst (Insurance) to join their team. The role will involve managing profitability and underwriting performance of the allocated products to deliver target loss ratio and presenting this effectively to capacity providers to maintain existing and secure new facilities.


* Communicate effectively with all stakeholders in both verbal and written communications internally and externally
* Apply statistical techniques to interrogate data to understand underlying trends and identify any key changes/trends in account demographics providing recommendations to enable the business to exploit opportunities, enter new segments and develop new products that improve performance and broaden footprint
* Work closely with the Product team to identify opportunities to drive improved performance
* Review Underwriting performance across all allocated products analysing all rating factors and distribution channels and presenting recommendations to enable the book to be profitably developed
* Compile product change and pricing recommendations based on sound account and market analysis including documented supporting evidence and projected impacts on the wider business
* Minimise premium leakage to mitigate risk of under-pricing and consequently poor underwriting performance
* Identify potential areas of improvement within the business and being proactive in offering solutions
* Identify opportunities to provide learning and development support and / or drive development initiatives

Essential Attributes:

* Experienced in use of market analysis and pricing software tools
* Pricing and Underwriting Experience
* To have an excellent Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
* Demonstrate awareness and compliance with the FCA principles for business
* To have an excellent understanding of products and service offered by the company
* To ensure your product knowledge is consistently up to date through continual personal development and the attendance of workshops and training sessions provided by the training academy
* Ability to communicate with all levels within the company across all departments
